Working as an artist can, at times, feel like a solitary pursuit. Gather Made Artist Collective was founded in 2014 by artists Sarah Pedry Obuchowski and Molly McIntyre, with the mission of creating a place to support, encourage, and promote each other as artists. This endeavor really began when we first met, earning our MFA’s at the Maine College of Art. There our primary was focus on making thoughtful, research-based artwork. A few years later- back in the real world- we found each other in similar need of a direction and a place for our artwork and our careers.
The Collective is a place to share ideas and resources in a way that encourages each other to be successful and balanced as artists and business people. Sharing our individual skills and strengths, as well as our unique audiences and connections, we help each other reach a wider audience with professionalism and quality work. In addition to the technical and emotional support we provide each other, we present the Gather Made website as a place for other artists, art lovers and collectors to find and connect with new artists, have a look behind the scenes at our processes, and share in our journey.
The Gather Made Artist Collective has a website where we host ongoing conversation about inspiration and process via our blog, as well as abbreviated portfolios, bios, and links to the shops of member artists. We are also present on Instagram @gather_made, Facebook, and Pinterest.
